Original and Funny Game with a Unique 2D Experience
I think it's a really cool and especially original game. I've never seen a 2D game on the GameCube before!
Moreover, it's fun because you play with different characters and have to transform into many things like a paper airplane. I also found Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door to be very amusingly crafted.

A unique Mario experience with a paper twist
My opinion is: `A Mario game? That's always cool, right?` Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door proves this once again. Its predecessor was a real innovation and surprise; a 2D game while they had just switched to 3D Mario games? Yet, it's a great success because it's just brilliantly executed.
The fun part of the game is that you are truly made of paper as Mario, which means you have the properties of paper. Try to make the best use of your weight and thickness, just to name two examples. Everything is also made of paper, so you are not at a disadvantage because of this. The sidekicks that occasionally come to help you are also very cool and add a nice extra to the game.
Despite being in 2D, the graphics are well executed. The game is easy to control, only once you get the hang of it, it can be completed quite quickly. So, definitely worth purchasing!

Funny and entertaining with a unique paper style
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a very fun and funny game. The first part was already fun, but this one is even more enjoyable! All the characters are very thin, which is why it's called PAPER Mario, and that makes it so much fun.

Amazing storyline and lots of extra content after completing the game
\'Wow\' is the first thing that came to my mind when I was playing Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door at a friend's place. To be honest, Paper Mario was the reason I bought a Gamecube. The graphics, music, and especially the storyline are fantastic.
You will spend a long time completing this game, and once you finish the storyline, there is still a lot more to do!

Funny Story and Atmospheric Environments in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
The Princess is fed up again. She's been kidnapped once more, but this time not by Bowser. And Bowser isn't happy about it, because he was always the one who got to kidnap the Princess! Mario? He's off in search of treasures...

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is truly a masterpiece to me. The funny story and atmospheric environments let you discover so much. What I particularly enjoyed were the battles. These take place on a stage, complete with props and an audience that influences the fight. Try to win over the audience and you'll receive fun extras, like power-ups and support.

In 2024, this Paper Mario was re-released on the Nintendo Switch, and once again this classic has received high scores. The charm and joy of the original have been well preserved!

Unique paper world and innovative gameplay in Paper Mario: TTYD
Paper Mario: TTYD is a fun game for young and old alike. It takes place in a paper world, which is beautifully done. A nice example of this is when you activate a bridge. It feels like turning a few pages further, as if you're reading a comic book. Mario also gains different ways to fold himself, allowing access to new locations. How about turning into a paper airplane to fly short distances or rolling up to fit through small openings? Very well executed.
This game also features sidekicks, of which you can use one at a time. Naturally, these sidekicks all have their own characteristics, which can be utilized both in and out of battle. All in all, a fantastic game that is definitely worth purchasing.

Unique RPG with a paper twist
A unique RPG game with a fresh perspective on gaming. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is, as the title suggests, made of paper so... You have to do things that make you think like a piece of paper. Folding yourself or using your weight or thickness. And that's how you embark on an adventure like no other. Embrace your paper self and make the most of it, because this is a rare experience. When I rented it, I finished playing it within 4 days. I hope to find it for sale someday at a good price.

Extensive combat system and long gameplay
I think Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door is a fantastic game, the combat system has become a lot more extensive and enjoyable compared to Paper Mario 64. The story is also quite long, so you won't finish the game after just 2 afternoons. There are plenty of side quests to keep you busy. The graphics are really beautiful, especially considering that the majority of it is made out of paper. A solid 9.5!

Can you train your partners twice to make them stronger?
MarioCube
9 jaar
To make your partners stronger, you can have them train for 3 Shine Sprites with the wizard in Rogueport. But once you've trained them once, you can't train them a second time. Or can you? After you've defeated Hooktail the dragon and earned the bomb as a partner, go back to Hooktail's castle. Head to the maze with sharp spikes where you previously found the key for a black chest. There's a crack in the wall. Make the bomb explode. You'll now find a white arrow. Give it to the wizard in Rogueport from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and you can have your partners trained for a second time.

Secrets:

While this may not seem like much, it can still make a difference if you're looking to train. Additionally, it's not very difficult since you can restore your health for free after each battle.

Beat him multiple times and you'll earn a lot of money (20 coins each time)!
