Originality Pays Off!
When Luigi's Mansion was announced as a release game for the GameCube, it was quite unusual. Not a Mario game, but a Luigi game!
This game is very different from what you're used to for a first-party Nintendo game, but it's certainly not worse! Instead of a 'platformer', you embark on an adventure with Luigi's 'Poltergust 3000'. In the game, you explore a large haunted house. Save Mario by solving puzzles and, most importantly, vacuuming up lots of ghosts!
A tremendously fun game! The only criticism I have of this game is its length. The game isn't very long, which is a shame.

Fun for once, but lacks replay value
With this game, I was expecting something similar to, for example, Super Mario 64, but starring Luigi instead. I did find it quite enjoyable to see Luigi take the lead for once, but this game wouldn't be much different with Mario in the spotlight.
But back to comparing it to games like Super Mario 64. The big difference in this game is that you follow a specific storyline, and it can only be done in one way. In the mentioned Mario game, for instance, you can collect stars in different orders, and you can progress even if you haven't collected all of them. In Luigi's Mansion, there's a certain sequence of events that must happen, or else you won't progress much. This isn't a problem the first time you play, but it does make the game less enjoyable for replaying.
The vacuum cleaner does bring back memories of Ghostbusters, but it's fun to use. It does set this game apart from other Nintendo games featuring the Mario & friends characters, and a bit of originality is always welcome. Luigi's Mansion also looks very nice, with beautiful sound effects. The haunted house atmosphere is very well executed.
All in all, a fun game the first time around, but it doesn't measure up to games like Super Mario Sunshine or Super Mario 64. It also becomes less enjoyable the more you play it.

Luigi goes ghost hunting in a unique GC game!
As one of the launch games, Luigi's Mansion was very strong. The functionality of the GameCube was well demonstrated with a unique game! For the first time, Luigi is in the spotlight and it's up to him to rescue Mario from his haunted mansion, where nothing is as it seems!

You quickly realize that you are not alone in the mansion, as it's full of ghosts. Professor E. Gadd studies the ghosts and has developed a vacuum cleaner to catch them, the Poltergust. Luigi takes this with him on his adventure.

You will need to search the mansion thoroughly, room by room. Each room needs to be cleared of ghosts. This way, you can obtain keys and other items to progress. In addition to the standard smaller ghosts, there are also unique portrait ghosts, each with their own personality and unique ways to catch them. You can discover how to do this in fun ways.

The game has a nice dark atmosphere, and you can tell Luigi is a bit of a scaredy-cat. You can even hear him humming along with the music! This charming aspect makes it really fun to play as Luigi. The graphics of this GameCube game are also really good and contribute to the overall experience. You can even see dust particles floating in the air, and the character renders are beautiful. The spooky soundtrack completes the experience.

Unfortunately, the game is a bit short. You can already see the end credits on your screen within a few hours. Luckily, the mansion is packed with treasures. Money is hidden everywhere, and by finding secrets and solving puzzles, you can even find diamonds. This way, you can try to aim for a high score.

Luigi's Mansion is a very unique and enjoyable game. It's simply a must-have for any GameCube owner. You really can't afford to miss out on this one!

Where the excitement began for Luigi!
**Review of "Luigi's Mansion" for the Nintendo GameCube:**

*"Luigi's Mansion"* is an adventurous action game that puts the lesser-known brother of Mario, Luigi, in the spotlight as he embarks on a spooky adventure to rescue his kidnapped brother. Here is an overview of the game:

**Graphic Presentation:**
The graphic presentation of "Luigi's Mansion" on the GameCube was impressive at the time. The game effectively utilized the capabilities of the console to create a atmospheric and eerie environment. The animations of Luigi and the ghosts are expressive, and the lighting contributes to the overall atmosphere.

**Gameplay and Controls:**
The gameplay revolves around exploring a haunted mansion and capturing ghosts with Luigi's special vacuum cleaner, the Poltergust 3000. The controls are intuitive and make use of the unique capabilities of the GameCube controller. Capturing ghosts requires skill and strategy, adding depth to the gameplay.

Exciting spooky atmosphere with lots of secrets
Luigi's Mansion is a really fun game, it looks really good and has such an exciting spooky atmosphere. There are also a lot of secrets to uncover, and once you've finished it, you can play the game again but in mirror mode and extra challenging, so you don't have to put the game aside right away after completing it, as there are always hidden secrets to discover. The music and sound effects are also very good.

Exciting and spooky adventure with Luigi
Luigi's Mansion is cleverly designed and fun to play. Mario has been captured in a mansion they had won. Inside the haunted house, you meet E. Gadd, a quirky professor. He has a vacuum cleaner, the Poltergeist 3000, that can catch ghosts. He is getting too old for his 'job' and you have to replace him so you can save Mario. It's cleverly designed and the music really adds to the spookiness. I do have one downside to mention, you only have one chance to complete the game. Also, the fun diminishes once you've finished the game because there's nothing else to do in the haunted house besides catching ghosts. At the end, all the ghosts are out of the house, so you can only start over, which I personally wasn't interested in. But I definitely recommend buying Luigi's Mansion!!

Fun game but completed quickly
This is a really fun game, but you'll finish it quickly. However, that's not a big deal because we're talking about a really fun game! Like many others, I also initially thought Luigi's Mansion?!? But that's fun too. A solid 9.

Luigi finally shines in the spotlight!
LUIGI!?! Is Luigi now taking the lead? I thought that was Mario's job. But not this time!!! Because Mario seems to have disappeared in Luigi's Mansion! It's about time Luigi stepped up to rescue someone. And of course, you probably already know that he definitely doesn't have the most courage to do this. This is a must-have for any Nintendo fan!

Luigi in the Spotlight: A Unique and Thrilling Experience
Luigi's Mansion is one of the first games for the Cube. This game was the kick-off for the Cube and people were eager for it. But wait a minute.......LUIGI....at first, I thought it was a joke...but no...no Mario, it's Luigi we're dealing with. Anyway, the game is about Luigi who has won a mansion, cool....until he actually sees the house, Damn...creepy man... but yeah, a game with Luigi can't go without Mario of course....so... the plot is...Mario suddenly disappears and it turns out it's all related to the Mansion Luigi has just won.
In terms of gameplay, it's pretty neat. You receive a vacuum cleaner from some old guy to suck up ghosts. Apparently, he wants to retire. Vacuum cleaner, I don't know, somehow reminds me of some movie: Ghostbusters. The concept is actually quite simple, you suck up a ghost, treasure chest, key, access to a new room. That's the game. Quite a shame because there could have been more to it. I also got a bit down when I saw the game's map. In just about 4 to 5 hours, you'll be done with it. But I have to say, they were the best 4 to 5 hours of my life:). So....folks, don't be put off by the short playtime, because we're talking about 4 to 5 golden hours here:).

Funny Gameplay with Ghosts and Vacuum Cleaner
I really enjoy Luigi's Mansion because it's different from the other games I have. I find it funny that you have to vacuum up ghosts with a vacuum cleaner. It's also fun that you have to vacuum each "painting ghost" in a different way. I'm a bit disappointed that I'm stuck now, but I'll surely progress further at some point XP.

Exciting ghosts and challenging battles in Luigi's Mansion
Luigi's Mansion is a cool game. Sometimes I get a fright from those golden ghosts. The game can be tough on my hands when I have to vacuum up ghosts. The baby, the dog, and the painter are my favorite ghosts to defeat! I still have to defeat King Boo with his mechma Bowser...

Oh, one more tip: Don't play Luigi's Mansion at night, it was so scary when I got startled!

Luigi's Mansion is an incredibly fun game, full of adventures. Playing with Luigi as the main character provides a completely different gaming experience compared to the usual spotlight on Mario. In my opinion, this is truly an enjoyable game that you can spend many hours playing. Of course, it's even more exciting to play this leading up to the new Luigi's Mansion.

If you catch the Boo while standing close to it and the jewel happens to come your way, you might pick it up while Prof. E. Gadd calls you on your GB Horror.
Then Luigi holds the GB Horror with one hand and with his other hand, he keeps pressing a button on the GB Horror.

How to achieve Rank A in Luigi's Mansion PAL version?
Pepijn
120
23 jaar
Many guides online will tell you that you need to collect 100,000,000 G for an A rank. However, this is not the case in the PAL (European) version of the game Luigi's Mansion, as you actually need to collect a whopping 150,000,000 G and complete the game on Hidden Mansion mode.

The game does offer a crucial alternative though; all blue ghosts (Speedy Spirits) and golden mice you catch will give you at least one diamond each, with a total of 15 spirits and 10 mice available. Each diamond is worth 2,000,000 G, so you're already looking at around 50,000,000 G.

An additional tip: You only have one chance to catch Speedy Spirits, but if you fail, simply go back to the menu and start again from your last save. So, save shortly before going after a Speedy Spirit.

By the way, don't bother aiming for an S rank, as this is only possible in the 3DS version and not in the GameCube version.

Neville is busy reading all the books from his shelf that he couldn't get through when he was alive. He's engrossed in his reading, so he won't attack you. Neville is the first human-shaped ghost you encounter in Luigi's Mansion. You can defeat him more easily by first vacuuming up the flying book, as that book will chase you. Once you've done that, make sure you can keep seeing Neville. When he yawns, strike with your Poltergust 3000! He has 100 HP and he can escape. But his HP doesn't regenerate, so if he slips away, wait until he yawns again.

Chauncey is a baby and the first ghost that is already "boss-battle worthy" in Luigi's Mansion. To wake him up, you have to make the rocking horse move by trying to vacuum it. If you do it right, Chauncey starts crying. Keep on vacuuming! Once you've vacuumed enough, Chauncey angrily jumps on the rocking horse. Then he appears next to Luigi in the room and tries to attack you. Here's how to defeat him in his first phase: Vacuum the ball in the nursery and shoot it several times at Chauncey. After that, he gets angry, shrinks Luigi, and you appear in a bed. Chauncey first attacks with rocking horses as battering rams. My tip here is to try to stand on the folds of the sheet. This way, you can dodge more easily and quickly when a rocking horse comes at you. Then come giant beach balls. Dodge these first, and when one stops, vacuum it up with your Poltergust and shoot it at Chauncey. Do this a few times, and you can vacuum up Chauncey.

How do you defeat Mr. Luggs in Luigi's Mansion?

Mister Luggs is the man sitting in the Dining Room eating the jelly in Luigi's Mansion. You need to light the two candle holders with fire. They are on the table where Luggs is eating. If you run out of fire, you can suck up a fire ghost from one of the two large torches in the two back corners of the room. Once you've lit the candle holders, two ghosts will appear, each carrying two plates. You need to scare them with your flashlight and then suck them up. They have 20 HP. Be quick! They disappear very fast, so if you manage to catch them with your flashlight, start sucking immediately! If you suck them up first, you won't have to worry about them when trying to catch Luggs. In the far left cupboard, there is another blue ghost. This one is very fast, so try to catch him with your flashlight. He disappears quickly and won't come back after you've defeated Luggs. Now you need to suck up the jelly. Once you do this, Luggs gets very angry and starts shooting fireballs at you. After about 5 balls, he gets exhausted for a while. That's when you should suck him up! He has 100 HP and releases about 50 HP nearby. Then he starts shooting fireballs again. When he gets exhausted again, repeat the previous step. That's how you can defeat him.

It's fun to look at the photos of the ghosts in the Gallery, but don't go searching for money in there!
You'll be searching forever, as there is absolutely no money in Luigi's Mansion!

How can I go back to the beginning to easily access everything?

If you're far away from a specific location, you can search for the nearest mirror and point your Gameboy horror camera at it and activate the camera! This way, you'll go back to the start (where you first enter your house) of Luigi's Mansion. It makes it easier to access everywhere and you'll know exactly where you are! This way, you won't lose any game data! :D

Ghost Guys are actually Shy Guys but with a spear, a different mask, and of course, they are also ghosts. In area 2, you will encounter them in the room of the Floating Whirlindas (the dancing ghosts), which I caught by chance. You have to defeat the Ghost Guys first. To do this, start by sucking up their masks. They can inflict a lot of damage with their spears, so keep a bit of distance at this step! I was almost defeated by the Ghost Guys myself. Once you have sucked up the mask of a Ghost Guy, you need to scare him with the flashlight and then suck him up. Be quick! They disappear very fast, and when they come back, they have their masks on again. Once you have sucked up all of them (about 5 ghosts), the Floating Whirlindas will appear, and the marble circles will start spinning. I'll let you discover on your own how to suck those up in Luigi's Mansion!

Why are the twin brothers Henry and Orville named after famous inventors?

You'll encounter the twin brothers Henry and Orville in Area 3 of Luigi's Mansion. It's no coincidence that they're named this way: Henry is named after Henry Ford, the inventor who created Ford cars! Orville is named after Orville Wright, who, along with his brother Wilbur, made the first flight with a motor-powered airplane. Henry drives a toy car behind you, while Orville flies loops with his toy airplane.

Slim Bankshot is a pool player in Area 3 of Luigi's Mansion. He's chilling out on the 2nd floor, shooting some pool. When he hits his cue ball, a purple, a red, and a yellow ball fly up in the air for a while. Catch one of these and try to dodge the others at the same time. Aim to shoot it back towards Slim. Once you've hit him three times, you can start vacuuming him up. He has 100HP, but you can suck him up in one go.
